There are several studies which indicate that the intake of soluble fiber may help in case of Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Fiber helps by adding healthy bulk to your diet. 2. Drink lots of water

When you are being troubled by IBS, you must make sure that you drink a lot of water. Doing this will help replenish your body in case of diarrhea. Also, if you are suffering from constipation, then good water intake can ease your problems.

3. Avoid carbonated and sweetened drinks

Try to stay away from carbonated drinks such as pop and beer as they may add to the gas in your body. Also, sweetened beverages have fructose as their main ingredient and may also lead to gas.

4. Avoid caffeine and alcohol

This one may seem hard to practice but keeping away from caffeine and alcohol can do you a world of good if you have a case of the IBS. They both are stimulants to the digestive system and can truly aggravate the problem.
