There are times when you will feel lonely and these are the times you will realize that you are your best friend and the best counsel. Being a better person begins with you loving yourself as in the end no one will love you as much as you love yourself. You need to feel good about yourself if you want to be treated the way you want to be ad if you want to become the person you want to be. Since it is all about you at times, there are things that you should not do to yourself. We do however end up doing things constantly that either hurts us or the ones around us. Here are things that you must stop doing to yourself.

1. Stop berating yourself

If you do not get past the mistakes you have done or if you cannot forgive yourself for falling short of expectations no one else will. You need to stop berating yourself for anything you have done or not done. You need to learn to move past things and believe in fresh starts. Sometimes a fresh start is everything everyone needs in life.

2. Stop damaging your body with substances

Substance abuse can be deadly for both your body and your mind. It does start off with mild stimulants but once you are hooked on to drugs it is very difficult to get out of it. You need to stay clear of any mind altering substances and do yourself some good in the present and also in the future.

3. Stop feeling negative and low about yourself

Everyone needs a healthy self-esteem. People make assumptions about you or treat you the way depending on how you portray yourself. People can sense when your self-esteem is low and they will take you for a ride. Be confident about yourself and your abilities and never rate yourself lower than anyone.
