6. Christmas Tree

How can Christmas ever be complete without a Christmas tree? The little trinkets that are collected over generations go up on the tree. The whole process of selecting a tree, putting it up, it’s decoration, the placement of gifts and lights is what makes this festival such a big and enjoyable family event.

7. Mistletoe

This is a special ornament, which is placed at everyone’s door. There is a myth of couples kissing under the mistletoe, which is said to have come from England. The original custom was that a berry was picked from the sprig of Mistletoe before the person could be kissed, and when all the berries had gone, there could be no more kissing! To keep the tradition alive, the mistletoes are still placed in all the Christmas celebrating houses.

8. Christmas movies

There is a full genre in films which is called the ‘Christmas films’ or the ‘Holiday films’. This is that time of the year when people get holidays from their respective schools, colleges and offices, and it is the perfect time for the whole family to sit together and watch films that celebrate the Christmas spirit. There is a big bunch to choose from. Jingle All the Way, Home Alone series, Fred Claus are only a few of them.

9. Friends and family

This is the time when everyone manages to meet and catch up. It becomes a nice reason to take a break from one’s busy life and just indulge in pure Christmas delight. There are various things that a family and group of friends can do together – there are Christmas games to choose from, hundreds of movies to be watched, collective baking sessions to enjoy, and a lot more. There is practically no end to the amount of fun friends and families can have together during Christmas.

10. Festive lights

The festive lights that decorate the houses during Christmas are such a delight. One can take a round around their respective neighborhoods just to have a look at how beautiful each and every house looks. People put a lot of effort in setting up their Christmas lights, and each year, there are new varieties and even more exciting designs and patterns to choose from.

The most awaited festival of the year can only be complete when all these things are put together with joy and experienced with near and dear ones. These are some of the things that everyone must indulge in during Christmas. A Christmas without them will surely be incomplete.
