6 Things to Stop Spending Money on

4. Organic foods

If you have the habit of going straight to the organic section of the supermarket to pick up your grocery, fruits and vegetables, you may not be doing a very smart thing. Many fruits and vegetables which have a thick skin anyway reduce the risk of your exposure to harmful pesticides. Also, there are some vegetables and fruits which need very little pesticide to grow. So instead of buying all foods from the organic zone (for which you would end up spending double and sometimes triple the price of the regular variety), do more of your shopping in the regular sections.

5. Music / movie downloads

Before you pay for a music or movie download, check out the various other websites and their prices there as well. Chances are that you will be able to download the same album or movie from another site at a much lesser rate. Also, as many online music purveyors would soon go DRM-free, these costs are likely to go down even further, as now you would be able to listen to music downloaded from any site on another MP3 player.

6. Car insurance

You may not be aware that many auto insurers provide bigger discounts to those driving less distances. If due to some reason your driving habits have changed, you may contact your insurer and ask how much premium you are now qualified for. The lesser you drive, the lesser premium you pay for your car’s insurance and you should see ways in which you can make use of this opportunity.
