7 Signs You have Antisocial Personality Disorder

Many people confuse the term antisocial with asocial which can be defined as a person who is an introvert and may not like too many social interactions. But the term antisocial refers to Antisocial Personality Disorder. Here are a few signs that you could be antisocial.

1. A disturbed childhood

The aggression seen in antisocial people is generally known to have its roots in their childhoods. Their childhoods are often marred by dysfunctional families, criminal history, legal complications and aggression in day-to-day behavior. If you can trace back patterns of your own aggressive behavior and disregard for social norms and to your traumatic childhood, you could be antisocial.

2. The urge to deliberately indulge in illegal activities

One of the key traits of antisocial people is that they are well aware of the repercussions of petty crimes and going against the law. But they indulge in them anyway as it gives them sadistic pleasure. If you get such urges or you have had your brushes with the law for similar reasons, there could be chances of you being antisocial.

3. You have abandoned your social responsibilities for no reason

Antisocial people go against the wishes of the society with indifference. If you have violated the rights of your loved ones, given up school or college or have abandoned other familial responsibilities for no real reason, it could be a sign that you are an antisocial person. Such a person may seem impulsive and indecisive in the beginning, but these behavioral traits eventually turn into the complete desertion of accountability.

4. You use your charms to manipulate other people

It is difficult to identify antisocial people easily. At the outset, they appear extremely charming and convincing but as time passes, they show their true colors and manipulate others with their charms and flattery. If you have a habit of using you relationships for own advantage without feeling guilty about it, it could be a sign that you have Antisocial Personality Disorder.
