6 Reasons Why Women are Affected by Postpartum Depression

4. If the baby is sick and colicky

The mother should have enough time to recover from the birth. If the bay is sick or colicky and she has to spend all her time on the baby and not the kid, then she is likely to get depressed and find it difficult to manage everything. Everything may seem like a challenge and she will break down very easily.

5. There is additional stress

If the stress of having a kid and caring for the kid is not enough, some women have additional stress in their lives. The stress can come from a difficult partner or from work. Stress from outside sources must be dealt with if the woman has a history of postpartum depression.

6. Family history of depression or bipolar disorder

A woman is likely to get postpartum disorder if she has a family history of bipolar disorder or manic depression. This is genetic and precautions must be taken to provide the woman with an active support system and treatment soon after childbirth
