10 Most Overrated Actors in Hollywood
There are some actors in Hollywood, who are never given due credit and worth. Mostly, because some non-deserving ones have been enjoying all the attention. Indeed, Hollywood has some of the most overrated actors, who haven’t done a lot of spectacular work, but still have people going all-gaga over them. Here’s a reality check for all! These are actors who seriously need to think over their career choices, or at least, carefully select their roles in films.
1. Adam Sandler
Popular in the comedy genre, Sandler hasn’t really explored much. Many feel that he either does not have the courage to try out more serious roles, while others feel that he can’t pull them off anyway because of his limited expressions on-screen. Either way, this actor really needs to get into something that impresses us all. Sure, some performances like the one in '50 First Dates' touch your heart, but 'Grown Ups 2' was rather upsetting!

2. Megan Fox
She’s hot, extremely hot! But that’s about it, right? Those pouty lips can’t really deliver dialogs very well. And sometimes, it feels as if her acting graph has just not risen or gone any better since 'Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen'. She definitely needs to work on her acting skills, and then get good roles to get her presence felt in a film.

3. Ashton Kutcher
Away from the rom-com genre, he did some decent work in 'Jobs'. One really hopes that he does more meaty and substantial roles from now on. But until 'Jobs', Kutcher had been working on films with an acting formula in mind. He used the same kind of expressions, the same style of dialog delivery, and almost the same zone and mood for most part of his career. A cheesy film with a cute guy is good once in a while, but Ashton Kutcher can’t be the guy in every such film! He needs to venture out!

4. Kevin James
Kevin James does good stuff, repeats it, and then forgets about it for a long time. He is one actor whose presence in a film always makes us feel that it will be worth a watch, but something goes amiss and it does not turn out to be that great an experience, after all. It’s time he brings in some variety, as well as some consistency in his performances, and in his career overall.

5. Jennifer Aniston
She is obviously extremely popular even till date as Rachel from the famous TV series, 'Friends'. However, she hasn’t done a lot of commendable work in films. Even though she remains a popular choice with many directors in the comedy genre, her films haven’t been doing very well lately. Moreover, the audience now feels she needs to start doing some more serious and meaty roles. 'We’re The Millers' and 'The Bounty Hunter' are not the kind of films that bring you in the league of great actors, really.

6. Keira Knightley
She’s pretty and has a nice charm about her, but somehow, she is never too convincing nor impressive with her acting abilities. Easily overshadowed by her co-actors, she needs something of a miracle in films to work in her favor and make her come across as a good actor. Till then, she’s just a pretty add-on in most films.

7. Jessica Alba
Again, a pretty face that stops at being just that. She does try to bring in some variety in her roles, but is never really in the skin of her character. That obviously results in rather average performances that don’t leave any mark behind.

8. Nicolas Cage
He stars in a lot of films, which obviously means that a lot of directors and producers put their bets on him. However, most people feel that it is only because he’s the safest option to consider when other big actors have refused on a project. Lately, his films are not doing too well, and he is often accused of playing almost the same kind of character in every film, with no range and variety whatsoever. Maybe, he needs to focus on the ‘quality’ of the films he chooses and not the ‘quantity’. Make your choices wisely, we say.

9. Vince Vaughn
It’s the same fast-talking character in every film that makes you laugh a little, but there is nothing great about it. Somewhere, he has stopped growing in his performances and needs to work on that. Maybe, he is using a formula that the directors expect him to repeat every now and then. But for the sake of his career growth, he needs to try out new and better things.

10. Charlie Sheen
His acting skills aren’t that bad, but you’ve got to maintain consistency in your work, right? After the success of his TV show, 'Two and a Half Men', people expected great things out of this actor. But he just fell flat. It seemed as if he couldn’t do anything better than that show. It’s time he proves people wrong with some strong performances.

There are many other actors too, who are overrated, and are also earning much more than they actually deserve. However, the journey of an actor in the movie business is often short-lived, so it’s important that actors make their mark while they can. Otherwise, they don’t seem to be that impressive anymore. It’s time that all these actors realize that.
