How to Stop Negative Thoughts?

Train yourself to filter your thoughts, and learn to identify thoughts of your own genesis, and those which you picked up by those around you. Instead of blocking certain ideas out, let them flow through your head, and once you know you don’t want some of them inside of you, show them out. The more you try to oppress them, the more power they will have over you.

If even after a lot of effort, you cannot get thoughts out of your head, just let them be. Do not pay attention to them. Instead focus all of your energies towards something constructive. Usually that should do the trick, but if not, you have to talk it out. Talking out loud in front of a confidante will be just like puking out the alcohol, and hence you will be free of all the toxins!

We all have the power we need to shape ourselves and build our perspectives. True, things will always be beyond our control, but how we react and how we think is always in our hands! Perseverance, effort, and a constant positive outlook transforms the mind into a spring of positivity, and makes life way more joyous!
