How to Organize Your House to Lend a More Spacious Feel?

Some people always seem to be complaining about how small their house is and how there is not even an inch of a space left in the midst of all the clutter. Well, in today’s age what with the ever increasing stream of people and the ever decreasing space especially in the cities, you cannot expect to live in a castle or a villa. The trick here is to make the most of what you have. All that it requires is a clever organization of your abode to make it seem more spacious. Here are some tips to organize your home in such a way that you lend it a more spacious feel.

1. Declutter, declutter and declutter

Look around yourself and you will find lots of useless things which just seem to add to the clutter. The fact that you don’t seem to find any space for any new things is that there are too much of these old and apparently useless stuff lying around. So the first step that you have to take towards having a spacious abode is to tidy up a bit.

2. Illumination

Clever use of light can also lend your house a more spacious feel. So come out of the darkness and let those chandeliers hang. You may take the help of a professional as well to help you decide on the best lighting pattern.

3. Mirrors

Well, so mirrors do have other uses as well apart from showing your visage. Mirrors can reflect all the light coming into the room thus helping create the illusion of space. It might seem preposterous in the beginning but try it and you will see for yourself.

4. Visual tricks

Use the concept of layering to your advantage. Instead of using similar colors all throughout, use contrasting colors in the rooms of your house. For instance, if the walls are of a particular vibrant hue, use a different hue for the furniture in your room. Similarly, the ceiling should be of a darker shade than the walls in order to give the illusion of height.
