How To Keep Your Child Safe From Accidents?

Install smoke detectors and fire extinguishers

Just in case your toddler messes up with an electrical equipment and there’s fire in the house, you must have a smoke detector and a fire extinguisher in your house. It’s better to be safe than sorry. Install detectors and extinguishers as soon as possible. Better be armed for an emergency than panic and create chaos.

Do not allow kids to enter the kitchen

No matter how hard it is to keep your child away from your sight, don’t allow your toddler to enter the kitchen. The kitchen is a dangerous place which has all kinds of heavy appliances, knives and most importantly, there’s fire! Imagine while cooking you lose focus, your child pulls the handle of the pan towards himself/herself, what happens next? The hot, boiling curry might spill over the child! Avoid all this by simply not allowing the child to enter the kitchen.

Eye every act

Regardless of how many safety measures you employ, accidents can happen at any time. Hence, it is important to eye every act of your child. Supervise every move. Encourage your child when he/she is exploring or doing the right things. But, whenever they try to get inquisitive about harmful things, teach them to never go near such things. This way, your interaction with the child will go a long way in preventing accidents.

It’s natural for a toddler to go about the house and find out new things, even if these things signal harm. But that doesn’t mean you snatch away your child’s innocence and inquisitive nature, under the fear of accidents. Follow these measures and you will see your child growing in a safe environment.
