Feeling Low And Depressed? Count Your Blessings

8. You have food to eat

Many times, you prepare food and have only as much as you need. The rest of the preparation goes waste. There are people in the world who don’t mind having wasted food, but they don’t get even that. The only thing they can do is to device ways to ignore their hunger.

9. You have beverages to drink

How many times in a month do you visit a pub or a bar? How do you find the taste of cocktails and wines? Exotic! But, do you know there are people in the world who don’t have clean water to drink?

10. You have a home to call your own

Whenever you have a tiresome day or on days when you are feeling sick, the place you feel like being is your home. It gives you the warmth, the love and the belongingness that you pine for. There are many people in the world who don’t have this special gift called home.

11. You have lovely friends

You may fight with them, be at loggers head over an issue or whatever. But when time comes, it is your friends whom you call up first. You are luckier than so many loners who don’t have anyone to fight with, to love and to call in times of crises.

12. You have parents

You may have a difference of opinion with them. But, you at least have someone to run into when in an emergency. What about orphans who are pining to have someone to love and care?

13. You went to a good school

Do you recall the face that you make when someone at a restaurant drops his/her spoon off the plate. What’s your first reaction? “How awful! Lack of etiquettes.” You know where you got your etiquettes from? From your school. There are many who don’t even get to go to school.

14. You have a career that gives you money

Accepted, your workplace isn’t the best one in the world; your boss is ‘nagging’ personified. But at the end of the day, you at least get a paycheck with which you can live your life as you want. Right?

These are little things that you need to be thankful for.

Life is a small journey that gives you both good and bad experiences. But to lead a happy life, you will have to take small intervals and count your blessings. It will make you feel good about yourself and your life. That reminds us of a wonderful quote: “I cried because I had no shoes, until I met a man who had no feet.”
