It is not a myth that you can say quite a lot about a person’s hygiene by looking at their feet. Some of us tend to ignore our feet until the last minute, when it is difficult to fix those cracks and spots. Here are some fabulous and easy tips which can make your feet look smooth and sensuous again.

Wash your feet

As easy as it sounds, most of us don’t do it. If you’ve had a long day, there is nothing more relaxing than immersing your feet in a tub of lukewarm soapy water. You can then rinse, dry and apply foot cream, if desired. Not only does it take the stress out, it is also one of the most natural and effective ways to prevent those cracks and dry skin. The best part is that you can do this while you are watching a show on the television or making those few phone calls after you are home from work.

Scrub between the toes

It is very important to give a little scrub between the toes every time you wash your feet in the shower/bath. Your feet perspire like any other part of the body and being wrapped up in tight shoes does not help. Residue and dirt may get collected between the toes, and is easy to overlook. A gentle scrub will take less than a minute. This will not only ensure smell-free feet but also prevent skin diseases.

Buy shoes at the right time

It is a known fact that your feet swell up a bit as the day progresses. Hence, it is advisable to buy footwear in the later half of the day. Any shoe which feels comfortable when the feet are at their largest will be comfortable at any time of the day. This will help you find the “right pair” of shoes which are not only hard to come by but also give extra oomph to your walk.

Use sunscreen

If you step out in the sun and are wearing sandals, rub some sunscreen over your feet. The skin on the feet is no different than the rest of the body and will get burnt if there is prolonged exposure to the sun. You want your feet to be smooth and silky whether it is at that quick change at the gym or that romantic date on the couch, right?
