8 Cool Outdoor Christmas Decorating Ideas

5. Follow the Christmas Star

Put a big star outside the main fence door of your garden that says “Follow the Star” and then put smaller stars lighting up the path that lead to the main door of your house. You can create your own path by aligning the smaller stars in a maze like form, eventually leading to the main door. This is a great way of welcoming your guests. The easier way would be to take star-shaped walkway lights, which are easily available in the market during Christmas time.

6. Make A Greedy Mailbox!

Put a signage on your mailbox with your Christmas wish list and a signage for postmen saying “Santa, you can leave the presents here!”. Everyone has their own crazy way of decorating the mailbox, so you can be as creative as you want and do whatever you feel like!

7. Show Some Generosity

Add a string of big socks along your fence and put chocolates, water, chips and other small snacks or drinks in each sock for carolers and passing people to stop and take. This is not just a great way of decorating your house, but also helps poor people and carolers a lot.

8. Spread Candles and Lanterns

If you are not too fond of artificial lights, then you can always use candles and lanterns to decorate walkways, fences and other areas outside your house. Use them in abundance to light up the whole exterior, and use bright candles in Christmas colors to add to the festive feel.

When it comes to Christmas decorations, there is no hard and fast rule. You can do whatever you like and go absolutely creative with your decorative elements. Make it a family activity, and it will be even more enjoyable with each family member’s creative suggestions and inputs coming in.
