Yoga is an ancient practice that is all about centering your body and your spirit. It also acts as a cure for a lot of illnesses and on top of helping you calm down and relax, it also energizes you. The best thing about yoga is that it is not strenuous and can be done any time of the day. You can do it early in the morning to have an energy filled day or you can do it after you get back home from work. 1. Downward facing dog
As the name suggests you have to stand on all fours with your face facing the ankles. This is a great pose to replenish all your lost energy and also give you the energy you need to survive the day or the night. This is also a great pose if you are planning to wear heels for a long time as this pose helps strengthen the calf muscles, the hamstrings and the Achilles tendons. It also works on the spine and the arms relieving a lot of tension that you would have built up.
2. Standing forward bend
Have you ever bent your head low and straightened it immediately? If so you would have felt the rush of blood to your head and you feel awake. This is exactly what this pose does to you. It takes the strain off your spine and also increases blood flow to your brain and the upper body thus giving you more energy. Do it slowly and continue for a few minutes to feel all revved up. This is also highly relaxing after a week of building up tensions.
