6. Fatigue

Yet another sign of depression, fatigue and lethargy are two important symptoms that go to show that depression is not just a mental illness but has physical repercussions as well. Generally, fatigue is related to stress and physical exertion wherein the muscles of the body start burning but fatigue during depression is lethargy wherein you may not feel like doing anything at all. There may be a sudden increase in the number of hours you sleep not necessarily because you’re feeling sleepy or because you are tired but as a result of mental fatigue.

7. Reduced Mental Abilities

Your mental ability may reduce tremendously when you are depressed. There may be cases wherein you may find it difficult to carry out mundane everyday tasks. This phenomenon is called brain fog in layman’s terms. This is when any sort of thinking or decision making seems particularly challenging and you tend to either avoid or make an illogical choice when you are in a state of depression.

Once you are in depression, you become more vulnerable to various negative emotions such as anger, restlessness and irritability. There is an aggravated sense of agitation and you may become quite unpredictable. There are frequent mood swings that may change from calm to terrible anger and then sadness in an instant. In most cases, you would want to be left alone doing things of your choice and won’t like any interference.
