9 Tips to Stay in Control During a Crisis

Nothing seems in control during a crisis. You feel like you’re trapped in a never-ending pool of grief and confusion. That is the time you have to hold on and find ways to get out of the situation. Here are a few ways to get back on your feet while being stuck in the mud.

1. Change your mood intentionally

Even if you can’t, simply change your mood. If you are frowning at present, forget the sadness that is holding you back and return with a big smile. Simply put, deliberately change your mood even if you don’t want to. Think of it as an exercise and show off your pearly whites. Deciding to be positive will help you to deal with a crisis.

2. Watch comedy

If you find yourself in a crisis and need to get back into control of things, simply turn on the idiot box and watch a comedy flick. While you may be entertained, the comedy and laughter will help your mind to settle and approach the crisis more effectively.

3. Call up your best friend

A simple call to your best friend may provide you with tons of encouragement and motivation during a crisis. Don’t fret, simply share your worries with him or her and you will feel much better. Talking with your best friend will give you the support to get through a crisis and make you realize how to handle it.

4. Face the situation

You can’t run away from the problem, you have to face it. Take it as a challenge and be bold to get out of the current situation. Think about your crisis practically. Think of strategies and solutions and don’t allow the crisis to control you.

5. Confide in your family

Leave the whole world aside as finally it is your family that will support you during a bad phase. Talk to them, embrace them, cuddle up with your mom and dad. Your family will give you perspective and not let things spiral out of control.
