Power nap is very beneficial for your overall health and lifestyle. Here’s how you can make it an integral part of your daily routine:

1. Fix a time for your power nap

Ideal time for a power nap is in the afternoon – between 1: 00 and 3: 00 p.m. It’s important that you take your power nap at a fixed time so as to set your biological clock. So keep a time slot aside for your nap after looking at your daily schedule carefully.

2. Keep it short and sweet

Short is sweet when it comes to power napping. Try not to exceed 30 minutes of nap time. Power naps are known to work even for as short a time as 10 minutes. Longer duration of sleep shifts your body to deep sleep and you’ll wake up feeling groggy rather than fresh. So keep it short.

3. Set an alarm

It’s always a better idea to set an alarm so that you don’t oversleep and drift into deep sleep cycle. More is not better when it comes to power napping.

4. Switch off the lights or wear an eye mask

Darkness signals the mind to sleep, so switch off the lights to sleep quicker. If you can’t turn off the lights, then use an eye mask.
