8 Steps To Stop Being Jealous Of Others

5. Don’t compare yourself with others

Keep in mind this rule of the thumb: never compare yourself with other people. Remember that everyone is unique and so are you. God didn’t make everyone with the same face or personality. So you should be happy with your personality and your true self rather than comparing yourself with others. Even if you feel someone has everything in life, look closely for no one has a perfect life. They are bound to have worries too.

6. Write your thoughts

Writing is one of the best ways to think clearly. If you write instantly what you’re feeling, it will help you to look at your inner self in a clear manner. Also, ask yourself why are you feeling jealous? And then jot down all the reasons that come to your mind. This will give you a bigger picture of yourself. After writing the reasons, think about the solutions as to what you can do to delete these reasons from your mind.

7. Be realistic

In any situation, you need to be practical and rational. If your partner didn’t call you one night, no need to grumble about it thinking he must have been out with his friends and not talk with him for few days. Instead, you could ask him later what was the real reason of him not calling, as the reason may be genuine. Just don’t be on your guard every now and then. Sit back and ask yourself, “If I don’t like this feeling, then why do I keep feeling it all the time?”

8. Be with other people

When you are jealous of someone, you are constantly thinking about where that person is, what he/she is doing or who he/she meets. You need to get out of thinking such things as they will only make you more jealous. Instead, try spending your time with other people and do some fun activities.

Jealousy is indeed a bad feeling but it isn’t quite difficult to overcome it. Follow these aforesaid steps and soon you’ll discover a better person within yourself.
