8 Steps to Plan a Workshop

8 Steps to Plan a Workshop

Conducting a workshop has almost become a basic necessity for educators, business leaders, photographers, and various other professionals these days. A successful workshop would provide the participants with a sense of accomplishment. Here are 8 steps to plan a good workshop.

1. Designing the workshop

This is the first step to any workshop. It includes all the planning and decision making. Setting the goals for the workshop, deciding target audiences, fixing the time frame and of course planning the budget.

2. Choosing a venue

The prime factor that will determine the venue is of course the budget of the workshop. If there is a bit of flexibility on that ground, you may want to choose a venue which is in a slightly quiet and peaceful place. It offers better focus and concentration.

3. Recruiting proper participants

It is extremely essential to keep in mind that the people you are recruiting for your workshop are actually interested in the subject and not just there because they have a ton of money to waste. Proper participants will make the workshop more educative, interesting and versatile.

4. Designating facilitators

Having effective and enthusiastic facilitators is very important to run a successful workshop. It is also advised to have a minimum of 2 to 3 facilitators. That breaks the monotony from one person speaking throughout the time, and keeps things more interesting.
