8 Most Common Fears in Life

5. Fear of death

One of the most common and the most obvious fears people have is that of death. No one wants to die. Some people fear death so much that they forget what it means to live. The fact is that death is inevitable and no matter how hard you try, you will eventually have to die. It is the law of nature and there is nothing you can do to avoid it. However, it is not so easy to accept this fact.

6. Fear of commitment

There are many who are scared to make any commitment in life. Be it in their relationships or in their career, they shy away from committing themselves to something for the long haul. This could be because they are not sure of themselves or because they do not feel too strongly about the cause. It is also partially because of this fear of commitment that many couples choose to live-in instead of getting married.

7. Fear of the unknown

Whenever we take up a task or get into something in general, we are usually aware of how things will turn out. However, if there is a situation where you do not know what’s waiting for you at the end, then you will be too scared to take it up. It is this fear of the unknown that prevents you from taking the leap.

8. Fear of being alone

Loneliness is scary for most of us. We get so used to being dependent on others for our emotional, physical, financial, or personal needs that the thought of being left alone fills us with fear. People who have this fear often find themselves moving from one bad relationship to another simply because they do not want to be alone. Even if it hurts to be with someone, you may not get the courage to leave them because the fear of being alone is simply too much too handle.
