5. Banh Mi

This is the name of a kind of Vietnamese baguette made from wheat and rice flour and also the name of the sandwich that is served on the baguette. This fusion food comprises of French ingredients such as baguettes, pate and mayonnaise, along with native Vietnamese ingredients such as coriander, hot peppers, fish sauce, pickled daikon and carrots.

6. Cuban sandwich

This dish is a variation of a ham and cheese sandwich enjoyed by workers in Cuba. It is also known as Mixto or Cuban Pressed sandwich and is made with ham, roasted pork, Swiss cheese, pickles and mustard on lightly buttered Cuban, French or Italian sliced loaf bread. The ingredients are layered and toasted on a plancha, a sandwich press similar to a panini press but without the ridges.

7. Club sandwich

The popular club sandwich is available and loved throughout the world. It was invented somewhere in 19th or 29th century USA and is a triple decker sandwich. This one is quite a filling meal in itself and consists of ingredients like chicken or turkey breast with bacon, lettuce and tomato on toasted bread with mayonnaise. This sandwich was popularized in gentlemen’s clubs, hence the name.

They may have taken their obsession with chips (fries as called by the rest of the world) a notch higher by stuffing them between two slices of breads along with condiments like ketchup and sprinkles.
