Coming out of the closet is a big deal even in today’s supposedly liberal times. It becomes even more of a big deal when the person in question is a celebrity having a massive fan following. These hot men showed courage and have become idols for other gay people in the world who hesitate to let others know about their sexuality.
1. Ricky Martin
Ricky Martin showed utmost courage when he recently came out of the closet. He made women all over the world swoon over him with his songs and he took the risk of losing a massive global female fan following when he declared that he was gay. He is even the father of two boys from a surrogate mother.

2. Neil Patrick Harris
People were left astounded worldwide when they came to know that the most famous playboy character to have ever graced the TV was actually into men in real life. This shows Harris' acting prowess because it is obviously not easy for a gay man to portray a person madly attracted to women and literally fool audiences around the world.

3. Adam Lambert
The winner of American Idol season 8, Adam Lambert won the hearts of millions of Americans and showed people that being gay doesn't make you a loser at all. He came out publicly the following year in 2009 and has a huge queer fan following.

He plays Kurt, the gay high schooler in popular musical drama show, Glee. People questioned his sexuality in real life too owing to his authentic mannerisms on the show. Colfer has always been comfortable with his sexuality, just like his character on the show.

He was the heartthrob of the 80s and women all over the world fantasized about him. His songs had the power to seduce women, but they were all shocked to learn in 1998 that he was not the dream man they had thought him. George Michael publicly declared that year that he was gay.
