8 Common Running Mistakes

5. Long strides

Some runners believe that taking longer strides increases their speed and efficiency. That is not the case. In fact you get tired very fast and can also suffer from shin splints, an injury caused by repeated trauma to the muscles surrounding your tibia.

6. Too much too soon

This is for beginners who get excited and carried away. Since running is new to them they cover too much distance too fast and too soon. To avoid this, start with shorter distances and gradually develop your speed and stamina to cover more ground.

7. Running downhill mistakes

Longer strides, leaning forward too much are the common mistakes that people make while running downhill. You should lean slightly; take shorter and quicker strides while running downhill.

8. Less fluid intake

People don’t actually realize how much water they lose while running. They consume limited fluids which can cause dehydration. Paying attention to what you drink before after and during the run can solve the problem.
