7 Ways to Get in Shape Indoors

If you are not much of an outdoor person, there are many ways in which you can stay fit indoors too. Whether you are bored with the gym, the monsoons are setting in or the weather outside is outrageously cold, you must check out a few of these indoor exercises to stay fit.

1. Do aerobics or Zumba

Doing aerobics or Zumba can be very hassle free as you won’t need more than an iPod and some indoor space to exercise and stay fit. Put on some thumping music and load a how-to video on YouTube to see the steps that you should follow when you do aerobics or Zumba. This will make working out fun and you won’t spend a penny on expensive gym memberships.

2. Use a jump rope

Jumping rope can be a lot of fun and can help you burn a lot of calories in one go to stay in shape. An inexpensive jump rope will give you the flexibility to workout anywhere you want indoors. If you are starting from scratch, start with a set of 20 jumps and gradually increase the numbers as per your comfort levels.

3. Yoga and Pilates

If you don’t mind doing slow workouts to get in shape while you are indoors, Yoga and Pilates could be good options. These are not fitness disciplines that will help you to sweat a lot. These routines will calm you down and make you focus on your inner energies. You will also get a change from pulsating and energetic outdoor exercises routines with Yoga or Pilates.

4. Climb up and down the stairs

If you have a staircase in your house, stair stepping could be a good way for you to stay fit indoors. Climb the staircase up and down for at least 5 times at once. Increase the number as per your comfort level. Make sure you that you don’t climb stairs sporadically, otherwise you can’t call it an exercise. Only when you do a few sets together, you will be able to strain your knees and thighs correctly and call it a proper indoor exercise.
