7 Tips to Give Up Smoking During Pregnancy

5. Recognize your triggers

Some people smoke when they are tensed, some go for it when they are craving for something. Everyone has different triggers and different needs for which they smoke. It’s better to recognize what makes you go for smoking, and then work on it to remove it from your life. For example, if it’s stress, then stay away from stress.

6. Meditate daily

Meditation helps you get the right perspective. It provides you with a peace of mind and keeps you focused on your goal. Meditate daily, preferably in the morning. It will help you start your day on a positive note, where you can tell yourself to stay away from smoking right in the morning.

7. Reward yourself

Set small goals like not smoking for a few hours or a day and so on. Set your goals according to the extent of your smoking habit. When you succeed in fulfilling your goal, then reward yourself. Go for that tempting dessert or treat yourself to a relaxing spa session. The idea is to pat yourself for being successful.

Always keep reminding yourself about the harm that you are causing your child if you choose to smoke. It will help you quit soon.
