1. Exercising multiple times a day

Exercising is a common way to lose weight, but that doesn’t mean that you exercise excessively. Your body may only need a certain amount of exercise in a day. If you hit the gym several times in a day thinking that you will lose more weight by doing so, you could actually be harming your body. Exercise in moderation and if you have any doubts as to whether you are over exerting or not, consult a certified fitness instructor.

2. Starving yourself or missing meals

Many women starve themselves to lose weight in the bid to have an hourglass figure. Some also engage in a misleading and potentially harmful act of throwing up after eating so that their hunger is satiated, but their body does not get calories from the food. Starving or missing meals to lose weight is an absolute no-no as it can deprive your body of the necessary energy it needs to function on a daily basis.

3. Going on crazy crash diets

You may follow a diet recommended to you by your doctor or nutritionist. But going on crazy crash diets by yourself thinking that you will be able to quickly lose weight is a myth. Crash diets can cause acute harm to overall health and well being. Be very sure about the calories and nutrients you are about to deprive yourself of, and don’t take any drastic steps without consulting a nutritionist when it comes to your diet.

4. Weighing yourself every day

Do you weigh yourself every single day before you step in for a shower? If you do, it could be a sign that you are obsessed with your weight and are losing patience. No matter what method you use to lose weight, you cannot shed pounds overnight. It can take weeks or even a few months. If you keep checking your weight often, you may lose patience with the natural process of losing weight which may make you resort to extreme measures. This habit can also demoralize you.
