7 Reasons to Dance More Often

Dancing is a fun activity which has many health benefits too. Whether you chose to do Zumba, aerobics, Salsa, Samba, Tango or Waltz, you should include dance in your life for the following reasons.

1. It helps in emotional catharsis

A catharsis is a psychological term for a process in which a person is able to express and vent out his or her emotions and feelings stored in the mind and the heart. Dance is an activity which will allow you to express your inner feelings. It will help you to unlock the emotions in your heart which you may not have chosen to verbalize due to any reason. Emoting through facial expressions or by swinging your arms in the air is a process which will help you to vent your emotions.

2. Be more graceful

Dance is known to make women more graceful because of the movements involved in the art form. Delicate and beautiful hand and leg movements are likely to make them more graceful and elegant. You may not notice an instant change in yourself. But as you make dance a regular activity in your life, you will start noticing more gracefulness in your movements.

3. Burn calories while having fun

Dancing includes stretching, jumping, bending and many other physical movements. The art form also involves musical accompaniments which give it a rhythm and beat. This makes dancing fun. Instead of burning calories with boring routines at the gym, you should dance your calories away. Even if you are not obese, you should dance more often to stay fit and healthy.

4. Strengthen your bond with your partner

Dances like Salsa, Samba, Waltz, Tango, Ballroom, Paso Doble and Jazz require partners to dance together. Such dances are a great way to spend time with your boyfriend and strengthen your bond with him. Most of these dances will require you to be physically close with him as you groove away to the rhythm of the music. This may also help you to rekindle the romance in your relationship.
