7 Pumpkin Desserts for Thanksgiving

Fall. Halloween. Think Orange. Think loads of Pumpkins. Pumpkin somehow becomes the flavor of the season this month, and like it or not you will have a pumpkin sitting at home. There are so many ways you can cook a pumpkin. Many think of it as a vegetable and lose out on the different desserts that can be made from it. Pumpkins not only make a good accessory for Halloween nights, but also are packed with a lot of nutrients that are good for you. Making treats and tasty desserts with pumpkins will ensure that you put your Halloween pumpkin to good use and also treat your family to healthy desserts. Here are a few desserts you can make with pumpkins.

1. Pumpkin cupcakes

You can turn your boring pumpkin pie into delicious and good looking cupcakes by adding cream and getting creative with the designs on top. Adding pieces of chocolate and nuts to the mix will also make it crunchy and scrumptious.

2. Pumpkin cheesecake with a gingersnap crust

A pumpkin cheesecake with sour cream topping put on top of a gingersnap crust. This makes for a unique taste. The gooey feeling of the cream and cheesecake is balanced by the crust at the bottom and the dessert isn’t too sweet and could become a hit with people who don’t like their desserts too sweet.

3. Pumpkin bread pudding

This is just recycling the old bread pudding. Make the bread pudding a bread-pumpkin pudding instead and experiment with the icing. You can add oranges for a citrusy flavor or go for strawberries and apples for a sweet and tangy flavor.

4. Pumpkin Ice cream

A bit of cold delight in this cold weather does not sound too bad. You can make a pumpkin flavored ice cream and turn it into an exquisite delight by adding your pie, cake, cream or nuts and fruits. Hot chocolate sauce on the ice cream is also a good option. The mixture of hot and cold makes a lovely combination in the fall weather.
