7 Healthy Snack Recipes

A healthy snack is defined as one that is loaded with nutrients and low in calories. Healthy snacking between meals has today become an important health tip so that you neither consume heavy meals nor deprive your body of essentials nutrition. So, here are some healthy snack recipes that are quick to make.

1. Watermelons and feta

Melons are rich in vital nutrients. Watermelons can be had in many different ways but the best is always as a fruit. All that you can do is take watermelon cubes; crumble some feta cheese over it and sprinkle generously with finely chopped mint. All three ingredients are healthy, fresh and satiate hunger without adding undesired calories.

2. Dried apple crisps

If fresh apple is good in many ways, dried apples are both healthy and make ideal snacks. Firstly, core the apple and slice them whole. 1 to 2 mm slices are ideal. Dust them lightly with cinnamon powder and place them on a baking sheet. In the meanwhile, heat the oven to 160 degrees and cook for 45 minutes with occasional checks. The apple slices must completely dry out and turn light golden in color. These apple crisps can be stored in an airtight container for long. Granny Smith apples are the best for this snack idea.

3. Veggies and dip

There is nothing more fulfilling than eating healthy and whole foods with a dip. This kind of eating satisfies your belly and your taste buds. A guacamole dip is healthy, easy and quick. Take 2 ripe avocados, remove the seed and scoop out the flesh. Mash the avocado and mix it with 1/2 teaspoon of salt, a dash of pepper and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. Finely chopped onions, de-seeded red chilies and tomatoes can also be added to the guacamole dip depending on what your preference is. Take 4 carrot sticks, 2 cherry tomatoes and 4 green beans with this dip for a refreshing experience.

4. Back to apples

There is so much you can do with apples. Take one small apple and cut it into thin slices. Spread almond butter on each slice and top it with raisins. Wholesome, nutritive and filling.
