7 Ancient Proverbs Not Practical Enough to be Followed Today

5. Curiosity killed the cat

People are encouraged to be curious and question things around them. In early days, the Church and royals would rule and they wanted their subjects to be meek, submissive people. If some people raised questions against them or tried to show logic to others, they would be sentenced to death or ostracized. Thus the phrase was formed.

6. Haste makes waste

In the fast paced world of today wherein everyone is in a rat race to achieve many things in their lives, people have no choice but to hurry up. Slow working people are chided everywhere and lose out on opportunities that could improve their lives.

7. Do not be concerned with things outside your door

This is an ancient Chinese pearl of wisdom which doesn’t stand to be very wise anymore. People just can’t afford to live in their own worlds for whether they like it or not, they are hounded by information about things that go on outside their house doors. Also, people have learnt that knowing things is better than being ignorant as you never know what might help you out in times of distress.
