6 Tips on How to Forgive Yourself After an Affair
An affair can be highly damaging to everyone involved. It not only affects you but it has a detrimental effect on those around you, the people who are dependent on you for love, affection and companionship. Also are affected the partners, kids or parents of the person you have an affair with. So inevitably you are left with a huge baggage and a massive amount of guilt over what you have done and what you had put the others through. In such cases forgiving yourself can be the hardest thing to do and can seem almost impossible. But it is the important thing to do if you want to go on with your life.

1. Accept that you have made a mistake

You might have had an affair for any reason; it might have been justifiable to you at that point. But now that it is done with, accept that it was a mistake. Only then can you think about forgiving yourself.

2. Get over the guilt

Holding on to the guilt will not help either you or your relationship. Get over it and start a new chapter in your life. You can start forgiving yourself when you feel less guilty about what you did.

3. Look forward

Moping about the past does no help. Go on a purge. Tell yourself you are sorry for what you had done. How often do we apologize to ourselves?
