2. Execution in the family
William Arden, a relative of Shakespeare’s mother, was arrested for plotting against Queen Elizabeth I. Needless to say, he was imprisoned and later on executed.
3. Directors are obsessed with Shakespeare
It’s not just literary circles who can’t get enough of this playwright. Directors round the world are obsessed with him too. Shakespeare’s plays have been adapted into movies in Hollywood, British cinema, Bollywood and Japanese cinema, just to name a few.
