This lot of youngsters who grew up on a staple diet of this epic TV series has inherently imbibed values and lessons which it taught them. Knowingly or unknowingly, millions around the world aspired to live and breathe like the iconic characters Ross, Rachel, Phoebe, Chandler, Joey and Monica did. Here are 6 important life lessons that everyone could learn from the show.
1. It’s alright to be crazy and whimsical
Phoebe was the hippy, chirpy one among this set of friends. She might have been quirky, but was probably the most loved among them all. She was the least educated compared to the rest but was more creative and imaginative than any of them put together. She may have inadvertently embarrassed herself but she was always proud of who she was. People should be confident and not let negativity bog them down, for everyone is gifted and special in their own way.
2. Friendship itself
The central theme of a show named F.R.I.E.N.D.S. is obviously friendship and this show depicted that friends are the family we choose for ourselves. Deep rooted friendship was the main message of the show. It taught us that true friendship isn’t affected by egotism, jealousy, status, etc. It is simply built on love and care. The series showed us despite numerous obstacles, dating games, parenthood, tiffs and challenges, the 6 friends always patched up and let the better part of their relationship shine.
3. True love conquers differences
Monica and Chandler were the perfect case of opposites attracting each other. It was a difficult journey from friendship to love to marriage and eventual parenthood for Monica the control freak and Chandler the lax guy’s guy. Anyone who has seen the show will know the obstacles and challenges this couple faced but managed to conquer for the sake of true love. Even when Chandler was jobless and Monica was unable to have kids, the couple accepted this and made the most of their life together.
