Good Skin Care Habits to Follow at Bedtime

Moisturizing your skin is not the only way you can keep your skin beautiful. There are a few common yet essential skin care rituals that should be followed if you want soft and supple skin.

1. Remove every bit of makeup

Whether you have worn heavy makeup for an evening party or you have worn a light foundation for a luncheon, make it a rule to remove all makeup before you sleep. Use a cotton swab, apply some lotion and dab lightly on your skin to purge it of all makeup. Don’t forget to clean up your eyes, arms and legs in case you have used body shimmer or eye makeup.

2. Moisturize and massage your skin

Once you have removed makeup from your skin, you can move on to moisturizing your skin before you sleep as a part of your bedtime skincare ritual. Skin tends to remain soft and supple if it has enough water content and humidity to retain moisture from. Giving yourself a quick massage as you apply the moisturizer is also a good way to feel relaxed before bedtime.

3. Use a mild face wash

A feeling of lightness and effervescence on the skin can be really helpful to fall asleep quickly and easily. Pick a face wash according to your skin type and cleanse your face of the day’s dirt before you go to bed. Make sure you don’t exfoliate your skin too much otherwise the skin can become dry and sore.
