6 Foods that Fight Allergies

4. Turmeric

Turmeric is a plant which is used as a spice and most commonly available in dried powder form. Turmeric itself is known to have anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties and an active ingredient called curcumin in turmeric is widely known to have anti-inflammatory effects on the body. You can include the use of Turmeric as a spice in your food. It is commonly used in making curry.

5. Green or black tea

Tea is also known to contain traces of quercetin. Consumption of green or black tea can have anti-inflammatory effects and alleviate light symptoms of allergy including runny eyes, running nose or sinus. You can substitute your daily cup of coffee with a tea instead.

6. Onions

Onions can make you cry but they are also a good source of quercetin. You can use them in salads, wraps, burgers or in main dishes to caramelize other foods. Garlic is also known to have similar anti-inflammatory properties like onions so if you can’t seem to find ways to increase intake of onion, use garlic instead. You can use freshly chopped garlic as to marinate your meats or even use fresh garlic paste while preparing other food items.
