6 Effective Ways to Moisturize Your Hair

Who doesn’t like shiny healthy hair? It is important to keep your hair moisturized just like you would moisturize your skin. If you do not moisturize it enough, your hair tends to get dry and dry hair becomes brittle and breaks easily. Hair also loses its sheen and hangs limply when you do not moisturize it enough. If you are someone who likes to ride on a bike or drive with the top down or spend too much time in the sun, it becomes all the more important to keep it moisturized and protected. There are some very effective ways to keep your hair moisturized and here are some easy to do ones.

1. Use oil

Not all oils are good for moisturizing your hair. Pick an oil that would penetrate deep into every strand of your hair. Coconut oil is a good choice for moisturizing your hair and it goes deep into the hair and also cools your scalp. Put it in your hair, massage it for a while and leave it on for a few hours before you wash it away for better results.

2. Vinegar

Vinegar is also a good option to get your hair moisturized. Rinse it on to your hair and keep it on for half an hour before you wash your hair or rub it on to your scalp. You can also spray it on your hair as an easier option.

3. Mayonnaise

Not something that you would want to put on your hair, but it does work and moisturizes your hair. Only unlike oil and vinegar, you have to definitely wash your hair after leaving it on for 30 minutes or so. Get the real mayo and not the fat free. This is going on your hair and not inside your body.

4. Beer

Who thought beer could do good for your hair. But it does. Pour beer over your hair after you shampoo it. Rinse it well if you do not want to smell like a drunk. Beer also adds shine to your hair. So go ahead and save a little after you drink and pour it on your hair too.

5. Banana and avocado

Make a paste with banana and avocado and apply it on your hair. Wear a shower cap to avoid spillage. Keep it on for an hour and then wash it away.

6. Egg white

Using egg white instead of a shampoo is a good way to retain moisture in your hair. Egg white acts like a shampoo in removing dirt and any stickiness from your hair, but is natural and helps retain the moisture.

Using a mild shampoo on your hair also helps retain the moisture. Strong shampoos just end up making them dry, rough and difficult to manage. Dry, frizzy hair is no fun to maintain or look at. Moisturizing your hair keeps it healthy and also gives it a glow making you want to let it loose and show it off.
