5 Ways to Cure Your New Year's Eve Hangover

Partying all night and ringing in the New Year with a cheer is the way the world celebrates! And why not? If boozing all night is a norm, then a hangover has to follow suit. But a hangover is not something that you can’t get rid of. There are numerous ways to keep a tab on your hangover, the easiest one being drinking less. But if that isn’t possible because too many people are forcing you to drink a glass one after another, don’t worry. We’ve listed down some ways to cure your New Year’s Eve hangover. Check them out.

1. Drink water

The first magic tip to cure your hangover is to drink ample amount of water. Alcohol tends to dehydrate your body which is why the first thing to do when you wake up hungover is to hydrate yourself. Drink as much water as you can. If plain water seems boring, drink juices or energy drinks. Just make sure electrolytes and nutrients are replenished.

2. Have carbs

Keep your diet plan aside and munch on some carbs to cure that hangover. They won’t just fill your stomach but also help you take care of the queasy feeling which you get after a hangover. So, at least for a day, don’t skip your breakfast. Having an omelet with some bread is the best bet because eggs contain an enzyme called cysteine which helps to break down alcohol.

3. Have bananas

If 2-3 bananas make you feel like throwing up, have at least one. Bananas are a rich source of potassium which, just like carbs, help to replenish energy. When you drink too much, your body is sapped off potassium which can be restored by having bananas. You may even enjoy a banana smoothie if plain bananas don’t fit the bill.
