Steps to Stop an Ex From Stalking You

Being stalked will make you feel uncomfortable and threatened. Be it a stranger or an ex, it is imperative that you discourage the stalking and take some steps to stop it from progressing. To help you do so, we have elucidated some steps for you to take.

1. Cut the Contact

The first time he tries to make contact, state your intentions clearly. Make sure you tell him that you are no longer interested in this relationship and that he should not contact you anymore. Don’t sound too harsh or angry. Instead explain calmly to your ex that it is over. After that, you have to stop contacting him, and ignore his calls, mails and messages. Never reply.

2. Notifications

Your ex will definitely try to get in touch with your friends and family. So tell them that your relationship with him is over. If necessary, ask them to stop taking his calls too. Make sure that they do not give out any details about you, your activities or current life to your ex at any cost.

3. Start Over

If you and your ex shared a mailbox, email id or phone number, make sure you do not access them anymore. Start over with everything without your ex. Get back the key of your apartment from him. Give him back his key. If necessary, change your phone number to stop being disturbed by him.
