5 Secrets to a Good Night's Sleep

Sleeping is one of the most important aspects of human survival. Sleep deprivation can cause you to fall ill, and eventually drive you mad and may even be the cause of your death. Whereas proper sleep will keep you healthy, make your skin glow, provide you with ample energy for the day and so many other things. So what is proper sleep? Proper sleep is basically maintaining a timed sleep-wake cycle which should be of at least 6 to 8 hours, depending on the age of the person. Another thing to be noted is that this sleep should happen during the night, and not during the day. Many of us may be insomniac to some degree and have sleeping trouble. So here are 5 secrets which will help you get a good night’s sleep.

1. Follow a regular bedtime

Studies have shown that if you go to bed at the same time every night, you will tend to fall asleep faster, rather than changing your bedtime every night. Choose the time when you’re done with all your work and your mind is at peace. Try not to break this routine on weekends or holidays.

2. Wake up without an alarm

If you are getting the proper sleep your body demands, then you should be waking up without the aid of an alarm clock. If you find it difficult to wake without that noise, it is probably because you need to get into bed earlier. Also, make sure that you wake up at the same time every day.

3. Exercise everyday

It is very important to do some basic exercises every day. This exercise can be as simple as going for a long walk or run every morning and evening. Apart from keeping your body fit, exercising also helps to boost your sleep hormones. Even if you ignore the science behind it, exercising basically tires your body, and a tired body will obviously fall asleep faster.
