5 Reasons Why You Should Stop Stereotyping Men

Men are typically stereotyped as being tall, dark, handsome, muscular, strong and messy who only like baseball or basketball. It’s only when we encounter men with different tastes, likes and aspiration, you start calling them effeminate. The only way you can stop stereotyping men is to accept them as different personalities with individual differences. Here are 5 reasons why you should stop stereotyping men

1. Men too are allowed to cry

When young boys cry they are told that don’t cry like girls. They are expected to stifle their feelings and emotions and behave like men; strong and clear headed. Not only girls are stereotyped as the weaker sex but etching such stereotypes in young minds does not allow them to express their feelings by crying or shedding tears if they are upset or depressed.

2. Men can look dashingly smart even in pink

Although hot pink or baby pink are now regarded as cool for men, there are many women who still cringe when they see men wearing pink color clothing. Why men are only associated with certain colors? These are very concrete stereotypes.

3. Men are capable of cooking and cleaning

Many women and even sometimes men seem to hold a notion that kitchen is the sole territory of women as they tend to be domestic goddesses. Men can only make 2 minute noodles or eat ready to cook food. You will b surprised to know that it is men who are star chefs in the culinary area. It’s also said that men are not capable of keeping their space clean and organized. They are messy and everything is always left lying in a pile. You will be alarmed to know that women can be really messy when it comes to their bed or wardrobe.
