5 Causes of Night Sweats

4. Low blood sugar levels

There are chances that the sugar levels in your blood drop down during the night. When you wake up, your bedspreads and clothes would be soggy and your head will feel heavy. Take the prescribed medicine if you are on medication, or consult a doctor, perhaps you have low blood sugar which has not produced any other symptoms.

5. Overactive thyroid

If the thyroid glands produce excessive thyroid hormones during the night, it would result in night sweats. This condition is known as overactive thyroid, technically known as hyperthyroidism. There is no cure except to go on a regular dose of thyroid medication as it results from hormonal imbalance. Consult a doctor, perhaps he will ask you to take the thyroid test to determine the cause.
