Meditation techniques can differ from people to people. What works for one may not necessarily work for another. You may choose a technique from the ones mentioned below. These techniques are some of the commonly followed practices worldwide.

1. Japa

Chanting the name of God or chanting a mantra repetitively in some place of solitude helps to transcend the soul and mind beyond materialism. Your thoughts begin to drift naturally and you begin to relate yourself with your surroundings.

2. Vipassana

Employing right breathing habit is the base of this technique of meditation. You become consciously aware of your breathing pattern as breath enters and leaves your body. Following the natural rhythm is important rather than being consciously trying to control its flow.

3. Dynamic meditation

A full session of 40 minutes is broken down into four 10 minute sessions. In the first phase, stand with eyes closed, take deep breaths and engage in activities that will force oxygen into your lungs. In the second phase, be spontaneous, let go of yourself and ventilate your anger and frustrations through vehement expressions. Jump up and down and yell at the same time in the third session. And finally, lie down as a dead person surrendering to the cosmos for the last 10 minutes. You would have already unleashed tremendous energy in the earlier sessions and take them back now while you relax.

There are several other techniques to meditate. However, it is extremely important to follow them appropriately to obtain positive results.
