6. Avoid walking bare feet on sand

Don’t walk bare feet on a beach or a sandy place. Instead, walk bare feet on green grass ever morning.

7. Wear only cotton socks

Don’t go for socks made from nylon or any other material. Never wear dirty socks because it can make the bacteria feed on your heels’ dead skin. This can surely cause some kind of infection. Wear shoes that cover your feet properly and keep the skin moist.

8. Pamper your feet on weekends

We usually forget to pamper our feet on weekends. So, use some good home remedies to pamper the feet. Mix raw salt, lemon juice, glycerin and rose water in warm water and soak your feet in it for about 10 to 15 minutes. Now, scrub off the dry skin from your heels gently with a pumice stone, foot file or scrubber. Afterwards, take a bowl and put 1 tsp raw glycerin, one tsp rose water and 1 tsp lemon juice in it. Stir well and apply this thick paste to your dry heels. This paste might be a little sticky but it will definitely help you prevent cracked heels. Wear a pair of cotton socks at night and go to sleep. Wash off your feet with a mild soap bar in the morning.

9. Massage your feet

A massage will increase the blood circulation of your feet which is really good for your heels. Massage your feet with sesame oil, coconut oil or a hydrogenated vegetable oil before going to bed. Afterwards, wear a pair of socks and go to sleep.

10. Use fruits to nourish your heels

Take a bowl and mash a ripe banana in it. Apply this thick paste on your heels. Leave it for 10-15 minutes and then wash it off. This paste can instantly soften your heels’ dry skin. You can apply the paste of avocado, coconut flesh and banana on your heels if the skin around your heels is dry. Avocado and coconut contain minerals, essential oils and vitamins which nourish your dry feet, and prevent cracked heels.
