1. 10 Things I Hate About You
The movie might be titled 10 Things I Hate About You, but there isn't one thing that we hate about this movie. Julia Stiles and Heath Ledger give stellar performances in this romantic comedy film. If you're feeling depressed, then go watch this movie. It's very refreshing.
If there was something bad that happened to you, then think about Amelie. Yeah, she's not real and all that. But movies sometimes can inspire you and so Amelie is a good pick. It's originally made in French but there's an English version available too or simply watch it with subtitles. Amelie follows the lonely life of a young girl of the same name who vows to help others and make them happy in any way possible and along the way she finds love.
3. I Love You, Man
I Love You, Man is a fantastic movie with a different kind of comedy. It has the great pair of Paul Rudd and Jason Segal who are absolutely wonderful to watch on screen. Peter(Paul) gets engaged and is going to be married soon. But he has one dilemma: He has no Best Man for his wedding. So he embarks on a journey to find male friends which brings Sydney (Jason) into the picture. How their friendship goes through the ups and downs is something truly remarkable to watch.
4. Grown Ups
This is not just any other Adam Sandler movie. It actually gives you life's lesson that how on your way to achieve success or just make a good life for yourself, you forget your old school friends. The ones who helped you when you were stuck at all the wrong places. If you're feeling sad because a friend hurt you, then try and forget that and think about the good times when he/she was there for you.
5. Mrs. Doubtfire
This is a beautiful story of the love and longing that a father has for his children. Robin Williams plays the father who then transforms into a nanny after a divorce to spend sometime with his children. The funny scenes and dialogs will leave you in splits.
6. The Hangover
The wonderful combination of friends out on any kind of journey is amazing and add to it a lot of tequila and a subsequent hangover just spices up the story. The Hangover is the story of a guy who is getting married, his brother in law and his 2 friends who go to Las Vegas just a day before the wedding. But when they wake up the next morning, they are unable to recall a single thing from last night and the guy who's getting hitched is lost. Watch them find their missing groom-to-be.
7. The Cable Guy
Jim Carrey is amazing in whatever comic, weird role he appears in. The Cable Guy has him as the cable guy who comes as a friendly chap at first to Steven (Matthew Broderick). But later on, he's obsessed with him and refuses to leave his life. You should watch this movie for Jim Carrey's amazing dialog delivery and facial expressions, of course.
8. Little Miss Sunshine
This is one of the best movies that you should be watching if you're feeling low. It comes with loads of drama as well as comedy. Each character has some or the other problem to cope up with, besides family tensions running along. You should watch this movie to forget about your life's tensions for a while.
This is a tale of fantasy and love whereby a young girl named Penelope has a pig's snout for a nose due to an age old curse. There is no one willing to marry her due to this, in spite of her being kind and sweet. The movie has a wonderful meaning at the end. Don't you want to know what that is? So go and watch the movie, it's really wonderful.
10. Two Weeks Notice
Two Weeks Notice has a fine blend of humor as well as romance. Sandra Bullock plays the attorney of a businessman who regards her more as his nanny. So finally fed up with this behavior of his, she gives him a two week notice to find another lawyer as she is quitting the job. What ensues in the next two weeks is an altogether different story. Take some popcorn and drinks and sit back on the couch to enjoy this movie.
