10 Healthy Breakfast Ideas

Breakfast is always a pain to make and serve. What with the different needs of every family member combined with the daily rush to get to work, breakfast can also sometimes turn unhealthy. 1. Regular portions

Having regular portions means nothing more than a whole grain carbohydrate, one fruit and any dairy or calcium product. This combination can include a bowl of multigrain cereal with strawberries and low-fat milk or an apple, a granola bar with a cold glass of milk or a whole wheat roll, scrambled egg, fresh fruit salad along with a glass of low-fat milk.

2. Fruit smoothie

Blend a mix of strawberries and banana, add a cup of crushed ice with 2tbsp of protein powder and pack this into a travel cup. This healthy breakfast gives you a healthy dose of antioxidants too.

3. Ground flaxseeds

For a good amount of Omega-3 fatty acids, sprinkle some ground flaxseeds on practically anything from your breakfast. You can add them over yogurt, eggs, cereal or your smoothie.

4. Whole wheat burrito and low-fat cheddar cheese

Take a whole wheat burrito and put 2 oz of low-fat, grated cheddar cheese on top of it. Broil this for 3 mins. While this gets done, eat an orange or any other fruit with vitamin C. This way your intake of calcium, protein, vitamin C, antioxidants is all set and going for the day. You won’t even feel hungry for hours with this satisfying breakfast.

5. Granola

Instead of the store-brought granola which has more of fat and sugar, make your own granola right at home. What you need to do is take a cup of dried fruits, seeds and brown sugar and mix them with 2 cups of rolled oats. In an oven, toast this mixture for 3-5 mins and store it away in an airtight container and gorge on it whenever you want!
